Hi
I was wondering how much should I charge for the
installation and configuration of a Magento Commerce
website. Including SSL, add a few info pages, and logo.
I would also insert 20 products?
Thanks,

Hi!
My wife has an idea for an ecommerce store. It seems to us that she’s defined a pretty good niche. The niche seems to be emerging and trendy, but not a fad.
We’ve been searching for direct competitors, and there are a bunch. Using compete.com/alexa, we’ve found that most of these competitors don’t do much traffic, with a few notable exceptions that appear to do quite well.
However, despite this: we’re not sure how to properly assess the market demand. I’ve looked at the google keyword tool and it does seem like there is demand for the niche. Are there any other good ways of determining market demand for an ecommerce store?
But, the main thing we’re worried about is: What if there is too much competition? And how should we assess the level of competition? Like, I said, we’ve done a bunch of googling and looked at alexa/compete.com profiles of these websites, but we’re still not sure.
Any tips on analyzing market demand vs. market competition for an ecommerce store?

I’m building an E-Commerce website for a business that will sell mostly B2B, but also to consumers.
The design I am working on is light and spacious. The client is concerned that the home page is a bit boring, and they want it to jump out more.
My question is how much (scale of 1 to 10 perhaps?) do you think a website of this nature should pop? And how much is the design irrelevant and visitors just want to see the products and information?

Hi,
Thanks for taking a look at this thread.
I’m currently quoting for an online shop we’re looking to work on it.
I’ve had experience of JShop and open-source like ZenCart before, but would like to list some key features the client needs and see if any solutions tick all/any of the boxes.
Here goes…
2 Member Types (Trade / Customer – Trade will get discounts/special offers)
Admin – Show levels of Stock, Current Orders, Enquiries and Manage Product Listings/Special Offers
Admin/Customer – Can both view Order History/Status
SAGE Integration
Each unique product has different costs based on the “size” selected
Good statistics ability to view popular items, “drop-out” counts or other bits of useful marketing info
CMS feature to allow them to make alts to other pages on the web site
Tell a Friend feature
Related Products feature
Gift
Newsletter
Ability to dispatch multiple items to multiple locations
Payment Details stored on the Server *
* = not sure how do-able this may be.
Thanks again for looking through this.
Many thanks for any pointers.

Hi
I’m looking for advice on how to set up a PayPal shopping cart which is made for buying software.
I want the customer to receive a download link after purchase, or access to a download location.
What I envision is that the user creates an account, register email and password, which the user then can use to download the software and any updates. (The software is not using license keys, so it’s simply about providing a download link.)
Of the shopping cart system I’ve seen, among the system PayPal describes, they all appear to be pure payments only, without any hooks to detect payments and set up automatic responses to payments.
I don’t want to manually approve each purchase.
I’d add that the software is not thing that I expect will ever make profit from all the time spent in developing it, so I’m looking for an inexpensive solution.
I am debating and thinking if there is a more effective gateway than the famous paypal, and why you would prefer another beside paypal?

Hi,
I have set up an e-commerce website that would be run via a dropshipping arrangement. However, I aim to turn into a big portal, with lots of articles, blogs and probably even a forum. The idea behind the content is that it would bring traffic to the website.
I have been wondering whether or not I should use adsense on the website, so that I can monetise the content.
I aim to have two kinds of content on the website:
1. My own articles, blog etc, that would be keyword specific and hence help build traffic to my store.
2. Articles from free article databases, that would help monetise the traffic that the store would receive because of the keyword specific content.
I am however not sure if adsense is a good idea on a E-Commerce website and would like to have your views on this. Should I get rid of adsense completely and just focus on product sales? Should I replace adsense with a commission based program where potential customers would at least not go to competition?
Thanks
I’m trying to find a way to be tax compliant and offload tax filing administration without spending a fortune. I’m still trying to find a shopping cart vendor too and the requirements are straightforward except for the taxes.
The challenge is that in the US, we have locations in 25 or so states so we’d have to pay taxed in those states if I”m not misunderstanding the complicated tax laws.
Any ideas on how to make it hands-off?
I looked at Avalara’s services but the price is too steep for a start-up ecommerce site.
thanks!
