Hi Everyone,
right now I am looking at setting up a marketplace type of service. It is not an auctioning platform, but user interaction is somewhat similar. I need users to be able to sign up, offer a product on the marketplace. With the same sign up the user should also be able to buy the products, other user have added to the marketplace.
I have looked at several eshop solutions, but all the ones I found, assume that there is only a single shop owner who is adding products. I have not found a solutions that has the ability for users to add products themselves.
Is there a readymade solution, that would support this kind of marketplace model? Would it be possible/How difficult would it be to adapt one of the existing eshop solution to add an interface for users to add products to the shop and connect link it to them in the database?
I am really looking forward to some feedback, thanks a lot in advance!

How extreme can the bandwidth overage cost be? From some quick research on Google, some small business owners are paying over $500 mainly due to unexpected bandwidth usage.
My site will use plenty of graphics as there are lots of HOW TO’s. A decent managed server will cost me $100-150 and will include more than enough bandwidth.
Hello
I need to add a shopping cart system in my website. rest of the website is ready. Can anyone suggest a reliable and affordable service which will do this task quickly without any long term commitment.
Hello everyone,
Has anyone here had experience with online credit card processing from customers in India and China?
My main target market is in these two countries and I’m looking for a blanket solution that would cover ideally cover the possible red tape and hurdles when dealing with money transactions.
The last thing I want is to lose a potential sale because my site doesn’t accept certain types of payments. I’ve read in a forum that’s dated back to 2004 that in China, debit cards are quite popular. Is that still the case? I know things are changing very quickly in the orient.
I’ve read about paypal the most, however they claim to accept payments from over 170+ countries but there doesn’t seem to be a list on their website.
Is there a ubiquitous solution out there?
Thanks in advance for your comments.

Hi,
The title says it. I have many, many PayPal subscriptions here and there and I need to see a list to cancel the uneeded ones.
Please help. Thanks.
Hi Chaps,
I’m building an online store, and have got to the point where I need some info about Payments.
The site is in PHP and have already got a cart set up, so just need to accept credit cards and process them to a bank account.
Does anyone have any information or preference on the best service provider to use, level of easiness on integration?
I’m after a service provider that doesn’t require redirection to a third party website (like PayPal), and we can’t apply for PayPal Web Payments Pro, so something that would ‘stay’ within the site would be awesome.
Any info would be a great help.
I’m looking for a payment system similar to PayPal where you can send users to an external site to pay and then bring them back to your site after the transaction. I’d really like something without all the external branding like PayPal has with their logo everywhere. I’d like to avoid systems that make the users sign up for their own accounts, e.g. PayPal and Google Checkout. Anyone know of any companies like that?
Hi all,
On my site people seeking to buy a specific service will post ads. These ads show all the details of the request except the contact information, which remains hidden. What would be the best way to sell the contact information to the providers of this service who view the ads? How can I deliver a phone number after payment? (and can Paypal be used for this?) Also, how can I make sure that the number is only sold once?
Thanks for your advice

Have I got this right?
I am getting a shop setup for a client, but am a little unsure of gateway/merchant account types offered by Sagepay and PayPal (mainly due to PayPal’s confusing website). I don’t have any numbers on estimated transactions sales / month from the client, but they are expecting great things, so aim for the higher ground
Sagepay Direct doesnt come with a merchant account. You would need to either get one off a bank or other third party (or even Sagepay itself – http://www.sagepay.com/products_serv…rvices/pricing)
PayPal Web Payments Pro IS a payments gateway AND merchant account rolled into one, and thus fees are as follows https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/we…g-fees-outside
I was a little unsure last night when I did some basic calculations about the difference that Sagepay Direct (without merchant account) and PayPal (with merchant account?) are offering
Any help greatly appreciated

I run an online shop Cool Watches | Unusual Watches | Modern Watches | Funky Watches. When someone orders from a country which is deemed ‘high risk’ for fraud I ask them to send a copy of their passport and the card they used to make the transaction to prove they are the owner of the card used.
I received an order from Turkey and the person sent me this:
http://twistedtime.com/passport/passport.jpg
The name on the passport matches the card used to make the transaction.
They said that they couldn’t send me a copy of the card because they use a ‘virtual credit card’ when shopping online.
I checked and this is what a Turkish passport looks like. Everything else about the order looks normal (same shipping and billing address). The only thing is that they ordered 2 watches which isn’t unheard of but a little unusual.
Does anyone have any thoughts on whether they think this is fraudulent? Should I send the watches?
Thanks!
