The best thing about Fireworks is it’s support for PNG8 alpha transparency…
I was thinking about opening up a batch of PNG24s in Fireworks and then saving them as PNG8 alpha…
What do you think good idea or will there be a noticeable loss in quality?

Is there anywhere on the net, where I can just find out how to do real basics please ?
I just want to make a rectangle 9cms wide x 4.1 cms high, with a white background, then place a smaller rectangle with a black background in the top half of that rectangle, place some black letters in the white background, then place an image so that it goes half on the white and half on the black. I know it’s an easy thing to do, if you know what you’re doing, but in all the many, many years of website work, I’ve done hardly any image work.
Any help appreciated.
Dez.
Anyone know if it’s possible to save an image in Photoshop 7, where you can go back to it at a later stage, and change part of it please ? Am completely new to PS, so not sure.

Hello all,
I just created a new account cause I can’t seem to get back my previous one that I have not used for like a year or so, which makes me kind of a rookie again
Anyway …
I’m about to launch a blog about photography called Photography Talks and have thought about using one of the following simple logos.
I’m no designer pro so I just put up these by combining an easily recognisable photo camera and speech bubble. It looks quite clean and clear even in small size.
Which one of the four is the best looking according to you ?
I focused only on the outline for now, colors and effects will be for later …
BTW, here’s the website so you can understand better what the logo is for. I think the camera will be blue and the comment bubble will be red, or vice versa (the link is in the signature).
So, which one do you think does best the job of conveying the website brand ?
Thanks a lot !

What are good places to find PSD web layouts (free or paid)?
I have themeforest, grafpedia, but are there other places?
I would like to find nice PSD themes that I can modify in Photoshop and then code myself.
Thanks.
Guys und gurls
What is the minimum Ram use one would need if you do many large project designs in photoshop? Not only the graphics but fonts ect. Some of the designs are 1 x 3 m.
Hi all.
Just a quick question re: making a company logo. I’m doing some web design work for a client who has a company logo that is simply their name typed out in a particular font (not sure what the font is, I’ve only got it as an image file). At TAFE last year, one of my teachers told me that this wasn’t the sort of thing a company should do. From memory he said that it was a legal issue, but it was a while ago and he may have just been talking about it from a design perspective.
So, does anyone know whether or not this does present a potential legal issue for my client?
Any advice would be welcome.
All the best,
Tim.
This part of the forums seems to have been rather quiet of late, so I thought I’d issue a general challenge (and show off some of my most recent artwork, of course.
).
The rules are simple: Use any graphics app from MS paint to Photoshop. Take all of the served image, or part(s), and make it your own. I want to issue a “theme”, of sorts, which will be “home”, but you can interpret that as loosely or as strictly as you wish. Best of luck, and let’s see some phenomenal images.

HI folks,
Can anyone tell me if there is a site where I can get free photos to use as a background on my site? They need to be a high resolution.
Thankyou
Can someone please tell me, how I can make the background of this template: http://www.templatesbox.com/premium-…emplate349.htm? On the header where it is brown and dusty, is what I am wanting to know. I know most of the header is a photo, but I know there would be a tutorial of some sort to make the dust. I need a tutorial of something similar or the same please. I have searched Google for a tutorial, but now have given up because I am getting nowhere. Any help will be appreciated, even just to lean me in the right direction. I am wanting to make the brown and dusty effect in Photoshop. Thanks in advance.
