How can we track sales back to search keywords?
I have a site with an affiliate scheme that is under-used for affiliates but has proved very useful for tracking adword sales – I send Adword traffic to an affiliate address example.com/?a=affiliate, and once there is a sale I can go into the affiliate program and if it’s an adword sale it will show me what search term was used when they clicked on my adword. This is incredibly helpful!
Should I be able to do that without that affilates? Should I be able to do it in Google Analytics – and not just for adwords but for natural listings clicks and traffic from other site’s regular backlinks to my site?

Webgility eCC for Quickbooks and shipping integration
For a long time, I had been searching for a way to save time by adding some automation to the order processing routine. I looked at programs such as Atandra T-HUB, as well as one called Shopping Cart Assistant and several others. I finally decided that I’m going to purchase eCommerceConnector by Webgility as I’ve spoken via email and on the phone with some of their users and they have nothing but good things to say about the company and their product. Not to mention that it’s priced a lot less than other competitors that offer less features.

What steps do I need to go through to become PCI compliant if I’m merely capturing billing information and sending it straight to the gateway.

Information to be stored in payment gateway integration
Hello,
The application I’m working on at the moment required a payment gateway integration.
So we need to analyze which ‘Credit Card Information’ can be stored in the local database of the application, with or without encryption.
Also which information cannot be stored in the application’s database at all.
If any one have idea about the above please let me know.

Future of WebDev, especially Ecomm?
As technologies become more ubiquitous, and mature, they tend to also become more standardized, and production of the products becomes more automated, and the number of vendors offering the technologies tends to consolidate.
For example, there used to be about 128 car makers in the US. There used to be a time when companies would hand-craft their accounting applications.
I wonder if hand-crafted websites are going to become less common. For example, maybe companies, large and small, will get their ecomm sites from the same SaaS vendor that provides their ERP systems. Maybe in five years, practically everybody will using something like Intuit site builder. I suppose the same company could provide professional design, SEO, analytics, hosting, and so on.
Could it be that the days of a company contracting an independent website designer are waning? Or will there be strong growth in demand for independent website designing?

Websites With Seamless Use Of Paypal
Hi All
I am thinking about using Paypal as the payment method for my website, however I have a couple of concerns which I have listed below.
1. It might look unprofessional if my customers are diverted to the Paypal Website.
2. My customers might get a bit annoyed about being diverted to the Paypal website
3. It adds another step to the process, which may deter customers.
Is anyone able to provide me with examples of sites who use PayPal as their payment method and appear to have a rather seamless and painless process?
Most of my customers will be paying by credit card, and won’t have a PayPal account, so I am particularly interested in sites that are focused on Credit Card transaction.

problem with https secure site
Ok I seem to be having issues with my secure site at gatewayknives.com when i add item to cart then click checkout, i get a little red mark next to my padlock sometimes which says warning unauth content. this is in firefox..no errors in IE. The thing is if I reload it then it is fine..my shopping cart host is not getting this error, it seems to be a hit and miss error, sometime I dont even get it. I just cant seem to figure out why this is happening. My ssl is by digicert…sometimes for some reason when i go to the https site it is not being verified it seems. can someone visit the site and try to go to a secure site from the cart and see if this is happening to you? i’m afraid i’m losing potential sales…thank you
Multiple paypal accounts for multiple sites?
Hi guys,
Bit of a Paypal newbie here so I apologise if this is a simple or obvious question.
I have a client for whom I set up an online store last year using Paypal IPN. There were no problems and everything continues to run smoothly.
Now that same client wants a second website, also an online store, completely independent of the first.
Paypal’s user agreement prohibits multiple accounts – fair enough.
However since Paypal’s IPN system only allows you to enter one notification URL when payments are received, that poses a problem as that account will only be able to notify one website of a transaction.
What happens in this case?
Both websites are registered as seperate businesses and have seperate bank accounts, they’re just owned by the same person – does this bypass the ‘multiple user’ restriction?
